Are you a woman who is losing her hair?

Most people have the mistaken idea that hair loss only happens to men. Nothing could be further from the truth. Over 40% of Americans who are losing their hair are women. This is a more common problem than most people realize.

Hair Loss In Women Isn’t Really A Problem — Is It?

The reality is that for a woman, losing her hair is emotionally devastating. Your self-image suffers terribly.

The worst part is, that since hair loss in women is not life-threatening, many doctors don’t take it seriously. Hearing from your doctor that your hair loss isn’t a big deal, and that you’ll just have to live with it only adds to your distress.

And hair loss isn’t just a problem for older women. More and more women who are in their twenties and thirties are facing thinning hair and premature hair loss. For some women, hair loss starts while they’re still teenagers.

Society as a whole is much more accepting of hair loss in men than in women. Men who are losing their hair have a lot more support than women do. In fact, people seem to think it’s ok to snicker at a woman with thinning hair and make cruel and insensitive comments.

What Can You Do About Your Hair Loss?

The time for suffering in silence is past for women who are losing their hair. In future posts, I’ll be examining the hair growth cycle, causes of hair loss in women, how hair loss affects women, and solutions for your problem.
